Recipient Profiles

The WWA Foundation began awarding educational scholarships and entrepreneurial grants in 2022. Since the programs’ inception, the Foundation has had 20 amazing recipients! Below are profiles for just a few of our scholarship and grant awardees:

Tiyesha Watts, a 2022 scholarship recipient, is a graduate student at the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration with a focus on Public & Non-Profit Leadership. With a 3.8 GPA, Tiyesha excels in a program uniquely offered by an accredited law school in California, emphasizing legal processes and regulations. Currently working as a legislative and policy advocate, Tiyesha's role involves developing and analyzing legislation, regulations, budgets, and procedures related to health policy. The Wille W. Anderson (WWA) Foundation Scholarship has played a pivotal role in supporting Tiyesha's academic journey, enabling her to enhance her advocacy skills and advance her career goals.

Amos Holt has started a financial revolution in Sacramento. He is the owner and instructor of Financial Power, and his classes have garnered unprecedented success. Hundreds of eager individuals have enrolled in the program, seizing the opportunity to unlock their financial potential. Amos is determined to take folks on a captivating journey of financial enlightenment that includes quality financial information. The WWA Foundation is proud to have Amos as a grant recipient.

Lisa is the owner of Imani Hutson’s Get Fit For The Future, a sports development training program for low-income young adults/adults located in Sacramento. The company provides trainings to individuals for self-defense, weightlifting, cardio, basketball, football drills and healthy eating. The program aims to provide tools and resources to achieve better decision making, increased self-confidence and independence. Lisa is a 2023 WWA Foundation grant recipient and we applaud her efforts.

Anthony attended Franklin High School in Elk Grove and graduated with an overall 3.4 GPA. He now attends Louisiana State University where he is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Anthony states his college degree will allow him to reach greater heights and enable him to give back to his community and family who has helped him throughout his life. We know that Anthony will achieve his lofty goals and we’re proud that he’s a 2023 WWA Foundation scholarship recipient.
